Nickels, po boys, and teddy bears

Are you kidding me? If I had a nickel for every time in 2009 that I either typed, said, or heard the word "onward," I'd have a real big-ass pile of nickels. So, when I stumbled upon this town (below) in my stealth Chevy MOAS, what choice did I have but to, ironically, stop?

And I had to have lunch at the Onward Store:

Onward is the birthplace of the Teddy bear. Seriously: http://www.onward-store.com/bear_hunt.html. Still a big hunting destination here, obviously:

I had been looking for a good lunch stop for an hour, but all I had passed were full churches (Sunday) and empty storefronts, like the town of Merigold (below):

Best catfish po boy ever. (Yes, I've had others!) Rounded off with sweet potato fries and sweet tea.
